Social Media Intern
Position Summary
The Social Media Intern position will be filled by a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in the education field. This unpaid internship offers hands-on experience at the intersection of education and digital communication, providing an opportunity to learn how outreach and engagement support the mission of an educational organization. The intern will work closely with our Education and Professional Development Outreach team to create, curate, and manage content across various social media platforms.
Responsibilities

Assist with developing and scheduling posts for The Oaks Center’s social media accounts (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms as appropriate).

Research and draft content that highlights our programs, projects, and free tools for teachers and mentors.

Monitor engagement and respond to comments or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Help maintain a consistent organizational voice and visual style across all platforms.

Track basic analytics to identify trends and suggest improvements in reach and engagement.

Support the outreach team in planning social media campaigns tied to events, workshops, or new resource releases.
Qualifications

Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in education, communications, or a related field.

Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail.

Interest in the role of social media in educational outreach and professional learning.

Familiarity with at least one major social media platform; willingness to learn others.

Organized, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
